Clintonville Rotary - Service Above Self

"Service Above Self" is a motto adopted by Rotary International and its clubs, emphasizing the importance of selfless service to others. This motto encourages Rotarians to prioritize the needs and well-being of their communities and the world over their own personal interests.

When you look at the world- observe two things:

There are many challenges/ problems to be solved
There are good people who can solve those problems if they all get together

Rotary is over 1 million people in over 220 countries, acting as the catalyst and the resource engine to get those people together.

International Priority

Polio may not seem like a huge threat these days, although it is still endernic in two countries. It was a Rotarian who said "we can wipe this disease out completely if we coordinate with health organizations and governments around the world." And in roughly 30 years cases have been reduced 99.9% worldwide There were fewer than 50 cases last year. So on a huge scale, that's what Rotary can do.

On a more medium scale, we have clubs around the world working on projects to bring clean water & sanitation, economic development, maternal & child health and other humanitarian projects - again, people from the community. working together to solve big problems.

In Clintonville, rotary financially supports those types of international projects. On a more everyday level, we are just members of the community who enjoy working together to help the community in any way we can, We are always looking for more people to join us or work with us.
